I was able to see the pass all the way during summer while driving and on my recent winter visit, i was able to walk to see my favorite look out covered in snow. What a beautiful area. Further along the pass was the first time I was able to see a moose up on the mountain side.

I rode the Boreas Pass from Breck to Como and back on a mountain bike I rented in Breck. The terrain is good and the climb (it's all a climb) is not steep but it is long and requires a pretty high level of endurance fitness. I rode it in September when the leaves were turning and the higher elevation... More

This is a favorite off road pass. Easy enough for a novice driver and any 4 wheel drive vehicle. Great views of the mountains and perfect for an afternoon adventure.

We took a day and drove up the pass from Breck. It was a nice scenic ride. The rode gets a little iffy and narrow along the way, not even enough room for 2 cars around some of the curves. Some of the road is just rock and closed during certain times of the year. The views from the top... More

Winding trails that climb to the top of the mountains on the other side of the Colorado-9 highway. Offer majestic top-views of the Peak 7,8,9 and 10. Part of the road is closed in the winter.

While not for the faint hearted, this drive provides spectacular views and feels like you've been transported to your own ideal world. The road is narrow at times and often very rough, so the 10 MPH speed limit isn't just a suggestion--it's mandatory and easy to follow. About halfway you come to the Continental Divide where the road becomes smoother... More

Every time we are in the area we take this drive. The views are stunning and seeing wildlife just makes it that much better. You can make the pass with a standard car. Stop and see some of the sights as well.

We experienced Boreas Pass in 2 different ways. One day on a bike and the next day by car. Day 1 - Rented mountain bikes and drove(by car) up to the portion of Boreas Pass road just before it becomes a dirt road. We hoped onto our bikes and rode about 6 miles uphill to the pass and the continental... More

I have ridden this road twice on my Suzuki V-Strom - it really is an EPIC experience! The views are spectacular, and the road is fun. You could easily drive this in small SUV's, and even some cars if they have decent ground clearance. Highly recommended!
