Boreas Pass Road is an amazing drive. And when the paved road stops, becomes an amazing hike. Easy access from downtown Breckenridge. if you want to drive the entire length, I'd recommend an ATV.

We drove as far as we could and hiked about an hour and a half up the trail. The views were breath taking. We were lucky and saw two moose on our way back. Bring a camera.

I went to Boreas Pass Road and hiked the snow packed trail for about two miles. The views of Breckenridge and the surrounding peaks is magnificent. I was there during the late afternoon and sunset, and will return someday to get photos during sunrise.

Drive over this pass in the Fall, if possible! It is a fabulous drive from Breckenridge to the old town of Como; viewing of the aspen colors is really quite something. In summer, there are also some good hiking trails along the way.

Boreas Pass is an old mining road, with plenty of history and scenic views, well worth the drive. Don't forget your camera!

We had a rental car with just front-wheel drive. This road (during snowfall) requires a 4-wheel drive. We failed to make it up the pass TWICE during our stay...ended up parking our car and renting an Uber.

This offers the best views for least effort. Great for snowshoeing or x-country skiing, or (a day or so after trail has been broken) for walking. In summer, drive over to Como, and make the round trip back to Breckenridge, stopping in Fair Play for...More

You won’t need 4wheel drive. Very passible in even a car.
