Cottonwood Lake is beautiful. It is a high altitude lake with mostly smaller trout. There is also beaver pond fishing on the creek feeding it. No, it is not big. Usually the higher up you go, the smaller the lake. But stop, look around you...it's...More

We probably had high expectation because I read all the good reviews. It wasn't worth the drive to the lake for us.

Beautiful mountain lake. Not the biggest lake but great for hiking, picnicking or fishing. Pretty close to town and worth the drive out there.

This lake has plenty of room for boating (non-motorized), kayaking, paddle-boarding, tubing, fishing, and hiking. Right now there is BEAUTIFUL Autumn colour!

The drive there is not great but as soon as you reach your destination, the views will take your breath away. Great place for camping, fishing, picnic and exploring with kids.

Easy access, stunning views. Needs restrooms at lake, however. Mostly a family-friendly lake with excellent fishing.

This little lake is really a beautiful stop when in the Buena Vista area. It can be busy, but there are plenty of peaceful spots to enjoy.
