The brochure said the train ran all year round, 4 times a day during spring, summer, autumn/fall, only once a day 12.30 during winter. We cut short our morning activities to go to the station at 1200 to check in. It was all shut up with signs saying it only operated on the weekends. We were there on a Friday.... More

Hello Jneene, We are sorry to hear that you were unable to enjoy one of our beautful train rides and that your plans were interupted. We hope that you will be able to make it back again to enjoy the experience. The brochure however does have the correct departure times listed which are as follows: Jan 14-Feb19 (Sats & Suns)... The Octoberfest food and beer flights were excellent! The staff were very attentive and knowledgeable! We rode in the dome car and if you are not a fan of the sun I would recommend the old fashioned car! The dome car was a bit hot in September! But the trade off is the more open views of the canyon! We... More

Hello, thank you for the nice review. Oktoberfest is a very fun time of year around here. Did you have the Veal Brats? They are one of our favorites. We are so glad to hear how much you enjoyed. We have several delicous menus we will be serving in our first class this Spring and Summer. We hope to be... More

We had a great time on the train ride. No need for the expensive seats we stayed on the open car most of the time. Would go back again.

My husband and I went on this train trip and we were treated like royalty by the staff. The meal was so good, my husband even ate his salad and he never eats salad. The view was amazing. Kacee Jo helped to make it memorable. My husband was brought to tears by the joy of the trip. We traveled all... More

Nice train journey with good view of river. The train ticket is bit expensive side. Take your own water bottle and skip the food, if you can. The view is good from outside and worth going once.

Hello, thank you for the review, we are so glad to know you enjoyed the ride. On the contrary though I would suggest to try the food, if you can, we offer a great menu, hand built by our Chef Jeremy, of local and sustainable foods, very good. Thanks again and we hope to see you again soon. More

We traveled very slowly about 10 miles down the gorge, looking through dirty windows. We ate very bad, overpriced food. We then went 10 miles backwards, very slowly, to the depot. I love almost everything touristy, grew up in a tourist town, and my husband loves scenic train trips. Neither of us could find anything good about this.

We are sorry to hear you found your trip with us to be disappointing. The slow rate with which we travel is meant to be relaxing and leisurely, giving all our passengers time to unwind and enjoy. We travel through a 1,000 foot deep Gorge, it is an out and back trip, not a loop so yes, we do travel... More

We ordered snacks and enjoyed the view along the Arkansas River. At the Royal Gorge Bridge (955 feet above the river), the train reverses and begins the return trip. As you travel, you can see how narrow the canyon is and appreciate how difficult it was to build tracks along the steep canyon walls.

This was our 2nd visit to RGRR. We traveled with our family ages 1-55. Everyone from the gift shop staff to the waiters on the train went above and beyond to make our experience a success. We set in the Vista Dome and were very comfortable. The kids play area at the depot was a nice surprise and kept the... More

Hello, thank you for the nice reveiw. We are very happy to know how much you enjoyed your time with us. The Royal Gorge Route is great for all ages, it is also great for couples, if a couple was wanting a less social, more romantic situation, private tables are definately an option. Thanks again and we hope to serve... More
