Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is America's ONLY mountain zoo. Large alpine habitats are home to over 950 different animals and approximately 180 species. All of your favorites are here - monkeys, hippos, tigers, elephants and bears (oh my!). Hand-feed their large reticulated giraffe herd, and experience animals up-close, like never before.

This zoo is amazing. Prices are reasonable, doesn't take all day to get through, easy pathways, fun stops for kids, good food. We enjoyed it every time we went. The closures are roomy and I never felt the sense of the animals being mistreated. They are truly loved by the staff and locals.

The zoo is located in a convenient location where is not too far from the city center, and very well situated with natural environment. The zoo has so much to offer, and very educational for both adults and kids. The docents were very knowledge and friendly. Make sure pack enough water and snacks to munch on while touring. It’s really... More

We had a great time walking around this zoo. The kids enjoyed watching and interacting with the animals in this beautiful location in the foothills of Colorado Springs. Very enjoyable.

What a fantastic zoo! I love that they give you the ability to interact with so many of the animals. You can hand feed the giraffes, the wallabies are loose and there is even an area where you can enter with the parakeets and hand feed them. Truly a memorable experience with plenty of photo opportunities.

I have been coming here since I was a kid. I am very impressed with the updates the zoo has made with the giraffes and elephants in particular. You walk right into the area with giraffes where you are at the giraffes' head level. The ability to purchase lettuce to feed the giraffes is available, but you get a cool... More

So...if you have trouble walking uphill or have "sea level lungs" you may want to rethink going here! The zoo is older so the animals are exhibited in more confined areas, not the spacious exhibit areas of more modern zoos. Nice variety of animals including a "Walkabout" Australian exhibit that includes free roaming wallabies! A highlight was feeding the giraffes... More

Our family loves this place. Our kids did the summer camp there this year and it was great. My wife and I went to a Tales and Tapas night also. It was so fun being in the zoo with only adults! We are members and will continue to support one of America's greatest zoos!

This Zoo is great. Nice mountain location. Close views of many majestic animals. Sky ride gives you and aerial view. Kids are able to feed giraffes and many birds. My 3 year old daughter loves this Zoo.
