Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is America's ONLY mountain zoo. Large alpine habitats are home to over 950 different animals and approximately 180 species. All of your favorites are here - monkeys, hippos, tigers, elephants and bears (oh my!). Hand-feed their large reticulated giraffe herd, and experience animals up-close, like never before.

We were originally going to go to the Denver Zoo but my aunt, who lives in CO, suggested this zoo instead. I was hesitant to comply at first, but OH EM GEE am I glad I did. This is the best zoo I've ever been to. It is literally on the side of a mountain and so many animals are... More

We went to the zoo, the day after we got in town to see the Grandkids. We took a couple of water bottles, and a couple pops with us. It was pretty hot that day, so we should have went with all water. There are several drinking fountains in the zoo, that have bottle fillers on them, which were life... More

We have been to many many zoos. Everyone has always said that The San Diego Zoo was the best. Not true. Been there, Chicago, and so many others. Cheyenne is still the best. Love that they are in the mountains. The only one like that. You will never forget it!!!!!

What a wonderful zoo. Beautiful facilities. Love that you can hand feed the giraffes. I have been to many zoos across the US and this ranks pretty high. Great for all ages.

It is on the side of a mountain so a lot of hill walking. The exhibits are great and the zoo is fun but what a workout.

We were amazed by the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo! The accessibility to the animals is better than any zoo we have visited and we have been to many over the years. The grounds are beautiful, the food options were excellent, plenty of shade and places to rest. The staff is excellent-very interactive and good at teaching about the animals. We will... More

My son and I decided to vista the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo before our trip up Pikes Peak (that trip was later cancelled due to weather-which allowed us to explore the zoo alittle more). The zoo allows close contact with birds, wallabies, and giraffes. Some of the big animals seemed sad, such as the tiger.

I was in town on business but brought my 12 year old daughter with me to sight see. I had no idea and would have never thought CO Springs had a zoo this nice. It is one of the most guest friendly zoos I have ever seen and they have a great herd of giraffes that you can hand feed.... More

Brilliant zoo. Kids loved the giraffes and also the bird house. Lovely clean zoo. We missed the gondola ride as it rained and thunder in the afternoon so I would recommend doing this first if open when you arrive. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Loved this zoo.

This too was fabulous! It was nice and clean, animals were visible and many quite entertaining! My kids loved feeding the giraffes, definitely a highlight for them. It is the perfect size to ensure you visit all of the animals but are not rushed or feel like you missed out. Highly recommended!
