We decided to take in Will Rogers Shrine when we visited the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. However, we had to visit the next day as we spent too much time at the zoo. The ticket allows you to visit the next day. The day was quite nice with the sun out. The drive is through the zoo and then up the... More

This is off the beaten path and you have to be careful when you drive up to the top but it is so worth it! Take change (quarters) so you can use their periscope, breath taking views

We went through the zoo in order to get here. Some great views up and down the winding road that leads to the top of the mountain. Once you get to the top, there's a nice Welcome Center and then it's a short climb/walk to the actual shrine. This is definitely off the beaten path and the peacefulness that surrounds... More

This is a great shrine, near the zoo up on Cheyenne Mountain. We dropped by here on the way back from rappelling.

What a surprising shrine! Not only do you drive through part of the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo to get there, the views are stunning and the shrine is much bigger and more informative than I expected. You wander the grounds and building, take unforgettable pictures of Colorado Springs way below (for perspective, the city is already at 6,000 feet). If you have... More

If you attend the Zoo, then this is a must! Especially since the shrine is included in your admission price. It a nice drive and a beautiful short hike up to the shrine. Be careful if you get altitude sickness. If you want to go up to the top of the shrine, it is many stairs and the altitude is... More

Very cool little "castle in the clouds" (as my 4 yo calls it). Not too time consuming, but the views are breathtaking. Definitely worth doing, fun for the whole family. Child supervision is a must.

Very cool building! The climb isn't bad and it gets you to one of the most amazing views of the mountains and Colorado Springs. The Will Rogers pictures are neat to see and they reflect a very different time period. The chapel was probably the prettiest part of the structure. The landscaping was nice but the view is what makes... More

This is an excellent monument and worth the drive and even the required admission to the Zoo, which is certainly not a favorite of mine. The monument is very impressive and is the final resting place of Penrose who built The Broadmoor. The site has terrific views.

This is a nice little area to be quite with your mind. I've never been up here when it wasn't windy though, so it's not technically quiet... There are a lot of switchbacks driving up and if you aren't a fan of heights I'm not sure you'll enjoy this trip up. But, we always head up when we've gone to... More
