Don't go and think this is a fancy museum. This place is very down to earth, very quiet. A lot of reading and history. Don't miss the running train display in the back, fun to watch.

Such a fun friendly place. Everyone is happy, relaxed, and so willing to help in any way. Skiing is amazing. Nine inches of fresh snow; best winter in years! Great little eclectic town with such charm. No chains here, just lots of fresh delicious homemade...More

When I arrived I had the whole place to my self and enjoyed the front of the "store" and the museum in the back. Solid history of the area and a good range of artifacts. Spend an hour here and get a real taste of...More

It isn't overpriced (like most things in this town) and worth the trip in to see the old mining, skiing and biking relics.....the town has an awesome history.

Interesting look at a vintage American mountain town. You get a great sense of how rugged the people must have been, and also, how they depended on each other to survive.

Walking the main street of Crested Butte , passing many t-shirt shops, candy shops, clothing and sporting stores, it was refreshing to find a "museum". Now in Crested Butte, even a museum needs to sell a few curios, but I found the items for sale...More

If you know – even just a bit – of history, then you don't need to stop here. Or to pay the admission. Or to take the “historical tour of downtown”. The “museum” is one big room which is 70% bicycles & skiing and 30%...More
