It's was only 2 dollars per person and well worth it. They say it's haunted. My favorite part was upstairs where they jailed the children and women.

Really interesting. It was in use through 1990. An amazing place with stories on the walls. Take time to read through through them. Also, get locked up to see what it feels like and get a wanted poster of you made (you choose the reward amount, offense, etc.)

We read the reviews of this museum and decided to try it. The docent seemed enthusiastic when she started the tour but then turned her attention to other people who arrived. It's a small operation with only one employee working, do it's tough to judge. It's small and laid out in an easy manner. We enjoyed reading about the memorabilia... More

So interesting to see a true jail from back in the day. You may go into the jail cells, even take your own pictures with jail clothing on from behind bars! Memorabilia from the days when 6 men were put in cells with no bathrooms! Photos, stories, original documents and police items on display.

We visited on a Tuesday end of August 2016. It is a self-guided tour with jail cells you can walk through and lots of information to read about the history of Cripple Creek in regards to the jail's history. No elevators to second floor so if you can't do steps, can't tour the woman's and orphans portion.

This was a fun time. There is plenty of things to see and read about the history of the jail. There are places to take your picture and dress up like you are a prisoner. Perfect for our first time traveling to Cripple Creek!

The jail tour was well worth the low price. Lots of antique objects on display as well as stories of inmates from the early 1900's on wall posters.

We saw this museum up on the hill and the building looked really cool. We stopped in and were greeted by a very nice young lady. This is an interesting little museum and we had a good time. As with a lot of the stops in this town, they are good at providing a lot of interesting history.

We absolutely loved this self-guided tour! Extremely interesting and very fun. Reading the history of the building and the folks who ended up here was not only informative, but also amusing in a devious way. Taking our own photos dressing in a prisoner uniform, and taking our "booking" photos was a hoot! Kids of all ages will love this place.

This outlaw and lawmen museum was super informative. You will learn a lot about Cripple Creek and how things were during the gold rush days. The laws for the town as well as some the interesting citizens the good and bad. $2.00 to get in is a bargain.
