This tour seemed a little expensive for our family of 5, but it was one of the highlights of our Colorado vacation! Traveling 1000 feet into the earth, we were able to see and learn about the workings of a gold mine from the 1800s...More

Travel down into an ACTUAL mine in an actual mine elevator, crammed in the way miners would have been. Fun, entertaining, and educational.

Our guide was very knowledgeable of the area and the gold mining industry new and old. It is damp and chilly so I would have a light coat or sweater and wouldn't recommend sandals. A good experience for kids probably wouldn't bring super young ones...More

The life of a miner has never seemed luxurious but going 1000 feet underground with a candle bring a whole new view. Unbelievably difficult. A very nice historical perspective from early mining to 1960s. These were strong men.

We were able to ride down into the mine shaft and go 1000 ft underground! The tour guide was amazing, with lots of knowledge of mining and the machinery. Worth every penny!!

This is one of the best mine tours we've ever taken. It takes you hundreds of feet down into the underground mine riding the old mine elevator, then through several mine tunnels. It gives a great understanding of old-school underground gold mining and hundreds of...More

It was really cool going down into the gold mine and all the facts that are tour guide had given. Just be cautious of the shaft ride as they put about seven people into a two minute elevator shaft that goes down 1000 feet. I...More

The initial thought of going down 1000 feet in a small cage was a bit overwhelming, but it is quick and easy, albeit you are packed into the cage like sardines. Our guide, Steve is a third generation miner and spoke with great knowledge about...More

You will enter and exit the mine by an authentic mine elevator. It is small and you will be packed in like sardines. I'm not exaggerating. It's okay though, because the ascent and descent are quick. Once in the mine you... More
