As a frequent traveller, sometimes you have a day in a city where you get pretty tired. I had one of these days on a particularly hot and sweaty day in Denver when I was out and about on my own. I decided to go for a quick snooze in the library where I found a rather comfy chair overlooking... More

Loving Libraries and Books I was delighted to see the Denver Public Library was a thriving hum of learning, fun, and encouragement of the arts. First they are friendly to newbies, out of towners and those who are not wealthy. They make it easy to find nooks to snuggle and read in, hook up to a computer. They have classes... More

The DPL is a wonderful building and is definitely a must see for those interested in architecture. Be sure to head up to the 5th floor and look around at the Western History Center. At least a full day should be allocated for all the Golden Triangle attractions (Civic Center Park, State Capitol, Denver Art Museum, Colorado History Center, Denver... More

The Denver Public Library is worth a visit if nearby. There is a fantastic geneology department and there is usually an exhibit up on the upper floors to check out. Also, place to go to the restroom, sit and relax, read a magazine and refuel during a busy tourist day.

The central branch of the Denver Public Library is an outstanding civic asset. It has every type of media one would expect in a 21st Century facility. The building is large, modern and well-organized. Beyond the obvious books, movies, etc. the Library runs a number of programs and special events. The staff is uniformly superior, professional, friendly and helpful. This... More

This is a large library. Much to offer. They are in the process of upgrading their technology in many of the rooms. This will bring them up to modern standards and make for a memorable experience. What they have now is good. What they will have will be better.

DPS is not only a great library, it has a fabulous Western History section complete with historic photos and old Sanborn maps.. great for research for those of us that are working in Colorado communities with a rich history.
