Disclaimer: Hubby and I have traveled a great deal in Europe and toured some showstoppers. While this late-1800s building is full of brass, marble, carvings, etc., it's very modest by comparison. If you have the same travel experiences, don't go expecting to be dazzled by the interior. Do go – on a clear day – to be dazzled by the... More

The gold on the dome is beautiful and well maintained and a tour through the building is lovely. This is a must-see for those who love old and inspiring architecture.

The Capitol builing is beautiful. It sits above a great park. However the park is full of homeless and people crashed out on the grass. Not what I want to see when visiting from out of town.

Awesome State Capitol. Great free tours of this beautiful building of our states history. The materials used in building are as diverse as the stories of its past, Great art pieces, wonderful chandeliers, this building is also within two blocks of the Denver Mint, just behind our City County building.

We toured the capitol. Had a great time doing so. The tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. The last part of the tour takes you outside of the dome. Spectacular views await you. Take your time climbing the stairs for 2 things. To check out the stained glass and oxygen!! You will get winded. Remember, you will be above... More

The Colorado State Capitol is quite the eyeful. First, it is on a hill, and being a tall structure, it looks rather imposing. Also, it looks like it has a gold-plated roof, so it gives a rather luxurious aura. The architecture is also impressive, and it even has a nice park in front of it to eat lunch, take pictures,... The capitol is beautiful and breathtaking. Its free to wander around, and I highly recommend doing that, but do not leave until you're able to go to the dome. You have to be apart of a tour to go up to that, but my group went up stairs to the fourth floor, and right when we got there, a tour... More

Had read about its history, and were pleasantly surprised at how open the building was. We sat and observed a meeting occurring. History of the place was quite amazing.
