Great zoo, to avoid long lines at the ticket counter, purchase the tickets online. Loved the elephant show

We visited the zoo in a Monday morning, not crowded. A lot of animals to see, all very well taken care for. Exhibits allow you to get close the animals.

I believe the zoo is open most days during the winter. However, if there is a very cold spell and or, a lot of snow, they may close. Certain animals that are exceptionally effected by cold weather would be kept inside then... More

I don't know if the day of week matters. I went on a Tuesday and was fairly busy with groups of day camp kids. It is better to go early in day as many animals were hiding out from the hot afternoon sun.
