This full hike would be a pretty strenuous for the novice hiker, especially if you're from out of town. If you're wanting to try and hike Mount Evans and you're already having altitude problems... It would be better to drive up and stop at Treeline...More

My first 14er. Starting from Summit Lake, I did the West Ridge Route via Mt Spalding (13800ft) to the top of Mt Evans - about 3 miles. take plenty of water. Came back down the road to summit summit lake (about 5 miles) Stunning Views.
