Delightful intimate museum and very friendly staff. Many excellent paintings, especially struck by first large scene on R entering 2nd floor by Dodge.

What an incredible collection of American western art from the early 19th century through the modern era. Nicely displayed and with an excellent audio guide, this museum will blow you away with the depth and quality of the art. Also, located in a wonderful Victorian building in the heart of Denver, really a must visit for anyone interested in the... More

Very interesting to see art that was made in the 1800-1990's. The audio portion of the tour gives background to the artist's history and where the art was derived from.

Husband is a history department chair and saw several original works of art that he has shown pictures of in class. Very impressed with the portrait of George Washington

Phenomenal collection of western art Tucked away on a side street about a block and a half east of the 16th street mall in an area otherwise full of offices and stores, is one of the most phenomenal little museums of Western American art in the country. Admittedly, visiting isn’t easy. The museum has limited opening hours and requires a... More

It's nor an impressive museum, but you can still enjoy an hour looking at interesting pieces of art. Small but good enough collection to take a peek.

While on vacation in Denver, we opted to see this special museum. We were on a tight timeframe so wanted an exclusive Western immersion. Luckily we found a 2 hour meter nearby. The free 16th St mall bus stops nearby too. The staff was so welcoming. It was like entering a private home. The audio tour made the self guided... More

Up until about 3 or 4 years ago, the public wasn't allowed to visit this art collection owned by Philip Anschutz and housed in a charming brownstone old home next to the Brown Palace. It is truly an amazing collection of art done by a variety of arts in different time periods and different parts of the west. Definitely do... More

This museum has one of the best collections of Western Art anywhere in the country. The walls are lined with paintings by all of the famous western artists. You will not see more paintings on display anywhere. The museum is in a lovely old building directly across the street from the Brown Palace. You need to make a reservation to... More
