The reason I love this place is because it is close to town and it is a little hidden gem in Summit county, because it isn't one of the most known areas, most people don't go here,. But the hikes and biking are wonderful with incredible views of the mountains and beautiful aspen forests.

This is a great place to hike, but since it is a wilderness area, dogs need to stay on leash (and there are many places that you can hike that allow dogs off leash, so if you have dogs, I wouldn't go here)
