A magnificent experience that I highly recommend. Very educational and inspirational. The staff's knowledge and passion is commendable. Tours are run very well and disciplined. I was concerned about touring with a bus load of school kids but order and silence were expected and required. The only time they made noise is when it was time for the group howl.
I pretty much made a last minute decision to go, sending my reservation request at 7 a.m. requesting the 10 a.m. tour. Trisha called at 8 and said they were booked until noon with a school group but said they had a 'Meet and Greet' at 9 with only three guests registered. I didn't think I would make it by 8:45 but she said, since it's a small group, as long as I got there before 9, I would make the tour. I booked it then booked it out of my hotel, arriving at 8:57.
Meet and greet with Keyni and Makuee was awesome. Just as we were told, Makuee was in your face with slobbery kisses and loved attention and being scratched about anywhere. Keyni went nose to nose and stared directly into your eyes and deep into your soul. He is beautiful...and he loves some back scratching, too. Makuee loved her snacks. And they both got into the group howl with enthusiasm.
Following the Meet and Greet, the standard tour introduced the group to all the rest of the members of the pack, including the foxes and singing dogs. Almost all of the residents got up close and personal while Emily gave her presentations, whether explaining the situation with each pack member, the operation or the plight of wolves. The Mexican wolves were the only ones who kept their distance but the rules for engagement with them and the red wolves are different.
Take some time to explore a little before or after your tour. The story of Chinook and Nikita is poignant and easily missed. They boast the longest covered bridge in Colorado, the Skyfox Freeway. The upstairs gallery is beautiful. And it's nice to relax with a cup of coffee or a snack before you leave.

We had an excellent tour (the basic one) and we learned so much! We were with about twelve other people. I would not recommend this for little kids because it would not hold their attention. Our guide told us all about their program, about wolf rehabilitation and reintroduction programs, and fed tidbits to all the wolves so that they would approach the fence and let us see them. There are other tours which are more in depth, with more photo ops; and there are tours at night. We saw all kinds of wolves, foxes, and a rare New Guinea singing dog. I highly recommend this, especially if you have out-of-town visitors. At the end we all did a group howl, and the wolves howled back!

Visiting the wolf center was a wonderful experience! It was incredible to see these magical animals up close and learn more about them. However, I was a little disappointed to learn that the center doesn’t focus on rehabilitating injured wolves and releasing them back into the wild, as I had initially thought.
That said, the experience itself was great. We were lucky enough to witness the feeding of both the wolves and a fox, which was fascinating. The guide (the lovely girl with violet hair) was amazing – she shared so many interesting facts and was so passionate about her work.
The gift shop was also a highlight! We bought some souvenirs, and it was great to know that all the money goes toward supporting the wolves. At the end of the visit, we even joined in a big “howl,” and hearing the wolves respond was such a magical moment.
Overall, it was a cool and memorable experience!

Getting to meet and pet a couple of wolves was AMAZING! Also, getting to learn about wolves and their environments was so eye-opening! I’ve been telling people about this visit for months and realized… I never posted a review! The staff were so friendly and welcoming and the tour around the grounds was educational and entertaining. Will definitely come back in the future!

An amazing experience. We were able to spend time petting and playing with wolves and foxes. We also took the tour that described the lack of protections for wild wolves throughout the US and how this has led to their near extinction. This was informative but also disturbing, so it might not be great for children. Hearing about how foxes and wolves have been tortured and/or killed for sport isn't fun but it's important to know what's been happening and why wolves are an important part of a balanced ecosystem.
P.S. If wearing a fur coat is your idea of great fashion, this is not the place for you.

We did the standard tour, which is an hour long. It is a little spendy for a family, as it is $25 per adult - anyone 12 yrs & older, & $15 for ages 3-11yrs.
The young man giving the tour was animated, passionate, funny & informative. He first talked about the endangered wolves & how we could all help. He talked about & showed us the fox, coyote, & beautiful wolves. He talked about each wolf personally & we were able to see them up close through a fence. Most of the wolves came up to the fence as he was talking about them. You can see how well cared for all the animals are at the wildlife center.

They charge $25 to get in. You can't see the wolves but behind fences far away and they are laying down. Add another $50 and you can have a fox come up to you, but don't touch. I went to the zoo for $14 in Panama City Beach and we had a huge white wolf sit right next to me for picture and I pet him for free. This is just a money making place, not for tourists. Very disappointed. No good photos at all.

I did the VIP plus a feeding tour...the VIP tour was definitely over priced. Probably worth 250$ but hey I did it anyways. Spending time one on one with the wolves was an amazing to do.
The feeding tour was nice but if you ever fed big dogs raw food it wasnt much beyond that . These wolfs are in a pen no bigger then a back yard and fed by what the ranchers produce. I still want to see them from afar to really enjoy them.
Lets face it we all want wolves and other wild animals to thrive. However , aside from interesting points about wolf behavior and lives, the tour was mostly a paid for propganda session from one viewpoint only. It seriously bordered on politics ( uncensored of course).
Ranchers i have met have very legitimate points about controlling populations of wolves and ESPECIALLY coyotes beyond what was presented as ignorance. They are way beyond bright enough to run their livliehoods to provide for their families.
If you want to discuss the plight of our wildlife we would better served talking about human population control rather than state laws.
Should have given a 3 star review but i'll stick with 4 because it was great to interact with these animals

This is the second time we’ve visited the wolf sanctuary. The first time we did the VIP meet and greet, which I highly recommend. Getting to meet the wolves up close is a very intimidating and emotional experience. My husband and I loved it.
This time we brought our two children, 14 and 8, and they had a wonderful time. From petting the horse in the pen next to the entrance to the howl at the end, they were engaged and enthralled throughout (except the beginning, it’s the educational and safety talk so to be expected :)). We even got to see wolf pups playing in their pool.
Definitely worth the side trip. And all costs associated with the tour and whatever additional experience you choose (optional) are 100% used for the running of the sanctuary.

at first i was worried that the group was too large to get a good experience (it was over 35 at the start and it grew a bit) but they totally proved me wrong. it was an amazing experience. Educationally amazing to start, and they totally went overboard on question answering and allowing any animal they thought might want to be social to have a chance at the group. im not sure if thats normal, but it was awesome. even got visited by a 35 year old horse that looked younger than i do.
that was before the tour, and that was awesome in its own right. i wont give spoilers, but if you have any passion for animals, or friends on 4 legs, give this place a shot. the $ goes to rehab on the pretties, so its easy to stomach.
amazing job everyone did today, i look forward to coming back.

Am I reading correctly that the interactive tours all require age 18+ ?
I understand that you cannot always trust kids and they want to prevent any incidents. Just trying to see if there is anything else. My kids will be 10, 12, and 14 next year when we'd go. Not criticizing but just weighing options.
Written July 11, 2023
It does look like most of the interactive tours are 18+ with the exception of maybe two that are either 16+ or 13+. I did the standard tour with no age restrictions and it was still great!

Hi, what would you like to know about this attraction?
For the Ultimate Alpha wolf and fox encounter experience, does the price of "$575 for 1 or 2 guests" mean $575 each guest or $575 to pay for 2 guests' admission together? Also, if this tour begins at 7:30 AM, what time is the recommended Standard Tour to do first? I didn't see any FAQs or place to ask questions on your website.Thanks.

What does it cost and what is included in general admission
Written October 22, 2017
1) The standard tour is $15 for adults, $8 for children. It is about an hour tour. 2) A feeding tour is $20 and $10 for 60-75 minutes. Evidently, the tour guide does the feeding. 3) An interactive tour is $300 for 1 or 2 guests and includes a thumb drive with up to 15 pictures. Each additional person is $150 with a maximum of 4 guests. You have to pay for a standard tour in addition to the interactive tour. You have to be 18 for the interactive tour. The interactive part is 20-25 minutes. All of this info plus more is on their website.

For two adult guests: How much is the Alpha Tour &/or the Ultimate Alpha Tour? What does one get with each of these tours? What happened to the website? (I tried finding it with the link from Trip Advisor, & there isn't a website...)
Written August 31, 2017
I've just been. it's $150 per adult. plus the general admission fee of $15 each.
for $15 you walk around the enclosures and get an educational tour and the story behind the wolves and their conservation. You observe from a path outside the enclosure
if you pay $150 on top of that, you get to go in with a pair of wolves. this is limited to 4 people per wolf. you get to stroke them and play with them. my boyfriend and I got paired up with another couple, but there were 2 wolves in the enclosure so it was still very private
the keepers take lots of good photos which you get on memory stick to take home.
hope this helps you decide

Can we bring a stroller for a standard tour? We have a toddler and a 6 year old, would you recommend the standard tour for us?
Written July 10, 2017
Yes. there were a few people there with strollers. However, the path is gravelly and goes uphill at times.
