Lovely Main Street.

Great Main Street feel. Lovely older buildings. The snowy mountains in the background made for a very pretty picture. Nice selection of shops and restaurants.

Downtown Durango has preserved much of its historic architecture. Lots of different kinds of stores and restaurants, with not much vacancy. You can find chotskies but I suggest shopping at Sorrel Sky Gallery for beautiful artist-made jewelry. Rio Grande Trading Co and a shoe store (don't remember the name).

High end to cheap goodies. Haute couture to resale consignment. Tshirts to tights, Durango has it all. Once voted the worst dressed town, a moniker proudly adopted. A place where come as you are is really come as you are. So many fun and inspirational opportunities. Great art and fantastic thrift stores. My favorite place on earth (without a beach.)... More

Nightlife, restaurants, shopping, friendly people. Plenty of tourist activities (train, whitewater rafting, Jeep tours, guided fishing trips). All this with the great Southwestern mountain mining environment. What's not to like?

Downtown Durango is a gem in southern Colorado. The town boasts many great and tasty restaurants and bars. Fired Up Pizzeria has great pizza and a fantastic jalapeno and cheese dip, delicious! Also during this trip, Steamworks Brewing Company has great food and very good microbrews. A great place to stay, is the General Palmer Hotel, and I was able... More

... or probably any other time of year! Fun, quaint downtown scene - you can walk to many good restaurants. Close to skiing and other great outdoor activities. We did the zipline tour that is about two hours out of town, but totally worth the time and expense. It was a once in a lifetime event!

We spent several hours visiting shops and restaurants along the Main Street area of The Historic Downtown Durango. Lots of different cuisine, plus, a variety of shops including antique, tourist shops, a glass shop, furniture, outdoors, a leather shop, etc. Several wonderful souvenir options available. A few shops lacked good customer service...others were excellent. A must see if you visit... More

Went to explore the town on Sunday morning which was great. Had an excellent breakfast at Carvers and then wondered around. Steamworks always a great place for some local brews and we found an awesome used book store.

Durango is a beautiful town in southwest Colorado near the New Mexico border. It has a vibrant historic downtown area with tons of shops and restaurants. You could spend a good day or two just exploring this area, but it's also good for a quick stop if you're looking for lunch or dinner. Since Durango is at the foot of... More
