Absolutely beautiful River with the Rapids and then the peaceful parts and then the Rapids again. It was great riding the train and watching the people on their rafts go down the river. No matter where you went in town and then crossed over the...More

Fast cold and high, the Animas in June was a blast A must for adventure seekers . We went in a super premium raft with Rivertrippers. Would do this again in a heatbeat

The Durango Silverton railway runs along this river most of the way. It was fabulous! We saw kayakers and rafters having the thrill of a lifetime on tthat rushing River while we were close enough to feel the spray.
We did both exploring and white water rafting on the Animas, and it truly is one of the best rivers in the nation. Whatever you do, whether it be the Animas Trail, Bakers Bridge, a ride on the train, or rafting yourself, this free flowing...More
Not just to watch but if you are a rafter or kayaker this is a good fun river. Some swimming and even a mooning beach just for the RR tourists!

River is very scenic. Followed it on the Durango to Silverton train ride. Even on a rainy day it was very nice.
