Beautiful!

My husband and I took a Rafting tour on this river Friday afternoon. We've done this before on the Colorado River, but I would do the Poudre River again....it's beautiful!.

Traveled Route 14 (Poudre Canyon Rd) up the Cache La Poudre River valley to the summit of Cameron Pass summit (Elev. 10,276 Ft). The first section about 15 mile has had a fire that took out most of the trees. Once passed that section the trip is breath taken. Saw fly fisherman, white water rafters and wild life all along... The Cache La Poudre River and the drive up the canyon is one of my favorite things to do. Your head needs to be on a swivel or your need to take turns driving to really enjoy the Poudre.

Driving up Poudre Canyon is an appreciation for nature. The Cache La Poudre River is fast and free flowing. At times fast and swift over giant boulders and at other times the rivers is fast but smooth flowing. Canyons and meadows. Likes and waterfall. Mule deer, bear, moose. It is in Roosevelt National Forest so there is camping and hiking... More

The Poudre river is a small but powerful river during runoff so be careful during that time. The scenery driving along the river is beautiful as it runs through a mountain canyon that starts just outside of town and continues on as long as you want to drive along it. There is commercial rafting that is the way to go... More

The Hwy 14 corridor along what the locals simply refer to as "The Poudre" is far less developed than either Hwy 34 or Hwy 36 to Estes Park. As a result the relaxed feeling of being more in the wilds is a pleasant relief, and you don't have people riding your rear bumper. If you leave in the morning, the... More

Love visiting the Cache La Poudre River area when in Fort Collins. The drive up the valley is beautiful and the river is a blast to float during the right water levels.

We rafted this river plus went fly fishing on it. It is hard to match the beauty of it all, especially on the remote stretches you see while on the raft. Try it!
