This is an amazing bike ride. The first climb out of Georgetown is a bit steep, but it’s not very long. The climb is great. Very scenic.

Many popular places to see the fall colors in Colorado but Guanella Pass is a beauty. The winding road begins in Georgetown and the first bend high above it gives a great view of Georgetown and its lake. But continue on and stop to see...More

It was late in September and we were afraid we'd missed good color, but Guanella Pass did not disappoint. We saw green turning yellow, yellow turning gold, and trees that had dropped their leaves. Beautiful vistas and interesting education on hydro-electric generating.

The road up to the pass is paved to the top from the Geogretown side but it will be many months before the remainder is paved. They only opened the road all the way to the top from Georgetowm a few weeks ago..
