Paraga was my favourite beach out of the beaches we spent time at. It’s one of a stretch of five beaches that you can easily walk between. If you start at Paradise Beach, Paraga is the second beach along.
Paraga was more relaxing, more chilled out than it’s partying neighbour, Paradise, but it was still lively enough to have atmosphere.
What you see here, is a beautiful beach, with crystal clear water and gently lapping waves which allow you to float calmly here or wade out a long way. Underfoot, it’s quite pebbly and I found myself keeping an eye out for larger rocks under the water which were a bit slippery. There were fewer rocks nearer the middle of the beach.
Sunbeds and umbrellas are available in the middle and left hand sections of the beach, close to the bars and facilities. The glamorous four poster beds, with macrame canopies, caught my eye but we were not intending to spend long at any one beach so we just spread our towels on the free area of sand.
Unlike Paradise, there was a decent area of free space on the right hand side. There are too many people to be able to find a nice, secluded spot but it wasn’t overly crowded either.
Shortly after setting down our towels, we realised that this was also a nudist area. Not sure how I missed that when we were deciding where to place our towels but to be fair, there were very few nudists amongst the crowd and we were intent on jumping in the water on a hot day.
One of the best things about Paraga is that you can very easily explore other nearby beaches. Paradise, is a just a short 10 minute walk around the headland, to your left. It’s an incredibly scenic walk along a clifftop dirt trail. Similarly, Agia Anna and Platis Giaolos Beaches are also only a short walk in the other direction.

Nice pebbly beach - large stretch of free beach if you refuse to pay for chairs like I do. Clear waters and nice music. I didn’t visit the town

Beautiful little town and bay. Lots of lovely shops and restaurants. You can walk it in an hour so not a great deal to see. Walk up the steps to the top of the hill to eatcat the restaurant by the castle. Great food. Lovely view

Lovely beach with excellent beach clubs very accessible to anywhere in Mykonos town. The turquoise water is excellent for swimming (even if the the stones and sand are a little rough on the feet). This is a popular beach, so it’s crowded, but the beach clubs provide good value for the price (even if it’s high). The beach is situated right by an excellent Greek taverna (Tassos) and one of the most popular clubs on the island (Scorpio’s). The beach is easily reached by bus, car, or sea taxi and of course has a free area (but bring your own umbrella or towel. The main detracting feature is it is popular which drives the beach bed prices, but based on accessibility and the quality of the water we found ourselves coming back several times over a 10 day visit (partially because our rental car was not really able to handle the roads to some of the other beaches. Lovely views and lovely swimming with all the amenities (for a price).

Very beautiful and not as party beach as Paradise. We enjoyed a relaxing time with clean beautiful waters and good music playing in the back.

We arrived late in the afternoon and the first challenge was parking. We found some behind a restaurant for 10€.

The next challenge was finding a place to lay down. There were no lounge chairs available for rental and there was very little open space to spread towels. We stayed for about 30 minutes and left.

Beautiful beach. Transparent water. Several possibilities to rent umbrellas and sunbeds. There are several restaurants and beachclubs. I advise you to rent a sunbed at Cafe Paraga (friendly service) and have lunch at Taverna Tasos (good food).
If you want to pay double to be in the same place, you can opt for Kalua beach club, but I honestly think it's not worth it

It’s ridiculous: they want 380 Euros (!!!) for a cabana or 160 Euros for 2 Sunbeds with minimal consumption of 100 Euro.
It’s the same on the whole beach - we asked all the rental guys - not to recommend at all - don’t go. Paradise, Super Patadise or Elia are perfect alternatives !
