We chose to be shuttle 14 miles up river from GS and then ride our bikes back into town. The path is well-maintained and wide enough for 2-way traffic. On the right is the mighty Colorado River where you will enjoy breathtaking scenery and possibly some wildlife and rafters. Unfortunately, on your right is the highway, sometimes high above as... I'll say it again, it is an amazing ride. The guys running the bike shop are super. They are pleasant and nice and helpful guys. They help you with getting the right bike and then you ride a van with your bike loaded in a trailer to the top of the trail. The trail goes along the Colorado River pretty... More

Our trip through Colorado each year usually follows a similar loop. We drive north on I-25 to the Denver area, head west on I-70 to Glenwood Springs, then we head back southwest on 82 through Aspen, Salida, Canon City, as we make our way back to I-25 to head south again. One of the areas of the state that I... More

This is a trail with great views everywhere you look. We did the downhill version (rode up in a van) from Bair Ranch, so it was lots of fun. I will warn you that there's a bit of an uphill climb as you get to the Glenwood exit. I wasn't prepared for that so it left me a little winded.... More

This is a beautiful trail through the canyon that took advantage of the highway being built to become the paved trail that it is, with access to highway rest areas along the way. The close to highway thing is the only reason I gave it a slightly lower rating because there were times that the diesel fumes from the highway... More

Have the shuttle take the bikes up to the area above Hanging Lake. Ride down to the trail and then lock the bike and hike up to the lake. After you come down, ride on the bike trail back to the town along the Colorado River. It was a downhill ride for most of the trail. Beautiful scenery. Rest stops... More

I-70 is an engineering feat through Glenwood Canyon. Fortunately they built a bike trail at the same time. The bike trail runs beneath, along side and sometimes between the two directions of I-70. The traffic can be quite noisy! Sometimes there is just a cement divider between you and fast moving I-70. Often the drop off to the river is... More

This bike trail follows the impressive and remarkable engineering of I-70 through Glenwood Canyon. At times you ride next (but safely separated from) the interstate and other times the quiet of the trail as it winds along old Highway 6 is peaceful. We saw big horn sheep within feet of the trail. Restrooms and fresh water are available at three... More
