Note: Doc Holliday's actual resting place in the cemetary is unknown. They have erected a memorial for him in a prime location. Interesting to walk around the cemetary and observe the gravestones from this era, ages of people when they passed. Worth the short hike up. There are a couple of benches to rest on the way up, if needed,... More

Arranged my vacation around this stop. I needed to pay my respects to Doc Holliday. There is a lot of speculation on Doc's location but the stop is still worth it. The hike is a little steep but my elderly mother managed it so I don't think it's too bad. If you love Doc Holliday, this place needs to be... More

Our last day in Glenwood Springs, we hiked to Linwood Cemetery. It was much more steep than I had expected and wished I had brought some water! The view is amazing and it was fun visiting such a historical place.

Ok, so its more of a walk than I expected. You can't drive up and see the cemetery. If you are expecting a hike, its a nice one - not too difficult and you get amazing views once there. Its also cool to see Doc's grave site.

The hike is a bit steep but honestly not that difficult. Benches are located along the trail to sit and rest if needed. This is a very old cemetery with significant value if one is a history buff. The exact grave-site of "Doc" is unknown. However, a stone has been placed in his memory. Unfortunately someone chose to relocate it... More

It's a pretty steep climb but you're fairly warned. There are benches along the way for resting and taking in the views. Cemetery plots from the 1800s-1900s.

If the historic value doesn't get you, the views overlooking the town will! The trail is about 1/2 mile, but you will feel the elevation. Enjoyed the ribbon tree on way up, don't know it's story. Wonder how they got the dead up to the cemetery?

It was a good hike up to the cemetery. A nice historical venture. Doc's grave had some interesting reading.

Upward hike on trail, trying to deal with altitude headaches. Would recommend going earlier in the day as the sun was hotter than I expected and I got sunburn on back of my neck (not expected in September). Small breeze at the top helped. Definitely not exciting for little ones and would definitely hold their hands up as there is... More

well we were told to hike up here but after a very short time the hiking trail just ends at the cemetery. the "highlight" there was kid curry, a bandit who is buried on the potter field. we were pretty much confused...
