This is a really lovely hike, but very popular. So the best advice I can give you is to get there early so that you can get a parking space. We got there at about 10:30 on a holiday weekend, and parking was full. We went to the next hwy exit east of the Hanging Lake exit. But it made... More

The place is just absolutely beautiful. The trail is a bit strenuous but once you reach the Lake, the view just completely makes up for it. You will feel instantly relaxed.

Well worth the 4 hour hike up & back! Once you turn climb up the highest incline & turn the corner, the beauty takes your breath away!

We went there three years ago and it took me five minutes longer this time. Just over an hour of hard steep climb, but well worth it. The travertine lake (more of a pond, pretty small) is striking. This spot is so popular and crowded that we will probably never go back. If you haven't gone then go see it... More

This is our second time here. After the hike you are ready to relax and there are benches and a Great view! Small fish can be seen in the crystal clear water. The one thing that I would say was a bit of a let down was that the forest service has had to block parts off since some visitors... More

I had plenty of reviews saying this hike was hard..so I was preparing for the worst . I wont lie it is a completely vertical hike. It was challenging for even me. There were people young and old on this hike and I dont think it's for everyone..There are plenty of rocks you have to climb over to get to... More

The hike to Hanging Lake is just that - a hike. This is a short, but very steep and physically challenging hike. There isn't any technical rock climbing and the trail is extremely well marked, but it is straight uphill one way and straight downhill on the way back. Please be prepared - bring water and wear good shoes. I... More
