With some time to kill before dinner we opted to see if the Art Center was still open, and it was. It was the second to last day of an art show which was a pleasure to see. I'm always amazed at the talent and it was certainly evident here.

Beautiful facility in a very old (1870s ?) church. Great use of space. When we visited, exhibit of artists from the Golden area. Diverse styles from very good artists.

Very cute small museum in an old church adjoining Colorado School of mines campus. They have a Christmas sale.

With changing juried art shows in two parts of the building, there's always something to see. Classes for adults and children are offered. Beautiful items for sale. A great local institution.

This is a quaint art museum that I love going to because it reminds me of Goldens' yesteryears and it has represented Golden forever! I love the building and its' surroundings, and the inside is clean and perfect for having craft fairs (we were attending the christmas display of local artists), my favorite time of the year to visit! Old converted church provides a good gallery for art exhibits and shows. Was surprised that they required an entry fee, as most art centers do not. A significant juried show was displayed in a very good presentation in a very nice facility.

For a modest art center, the exhibits are stimulating and stellar. After most visits, you will leave thinking.

The displays are small limited to special exhibitions it seems. There were a few connected rooms. The offerings in the gift shop, 3 rooms large have wonderful offerings. Great cards, jewelry, pottery all made by artists, so if you are looking for a gift to take home or celebration this is the place.

Over the years, I've spent a lot of time in this place, looking at art of all kinds, buying small gifts and just enjoying the quiet space outside. It's up a hill and worth the climb, a nice respite for the day.

I love that this smaller venue has such a Colorado vibe to it. It's got history and the exhibits that come through here just feel more personal.
