This set of gardens has native plants, cultivated plants, water gardens, exotic plants, sculpture and a butterfly room. It is beautiful all spring, summer and fall. You can visit the indoor gardens in the winter. The gardens sponsor some festivals. But the reason I love to go is the flowers in the spring. The iris, in particular, make a gorgeous... More

I will defer comments about the Gardens themselves to others. The reason I liked it is that it provided parking for the trail that takes you under Highway 50 to the wonderful Truss railroad bridge. This bridge was built the year Grand Junction was founded, in 1880, and it crosses the Colorado (formerly the Grand River) right where it joins... More

Attractive gardens near to the river and not far from town. Has a butterfly house and a reasonable range of plants and habitats. Ponds where you can feed fish. There is an admission fee which detracts from it being somewhere you'd just pop in, but we enjoyed our hour there.

Of course, we love gardens and Grand Junction has one called the Western Colorado Botanical Gardens. We looked at it online and it didn't look like much but....we went anyway. Who doesn't love flowers? In all, they had (1) a butterfly garden, (2) inside "hot" room, (3) outside rock garden, (4) Iris courtyard, (5) an entire outdoor section devoted to... More

it's a good thing, which a few paid staff and many dedicated volunteers who share a love of gardening have come together to run this unique (for our area) establishment. quite often there are butterflies (year round) in the indoor semi-tropical garden (don't touch!) -- and an increasing array of outdoor gardens and other facilities as well. I think they... More

Great place to go just for a little get away from traveling. We enjoyed just seeing all of the different plants and taking our time.

A delight garden to refresh and take a colorful walk along Western Colorado's offerings of color and variety of plants and vines. Many native plants and always some color to brighten the day. Close to County Fair grounds and activities throughout the year.

Real cool, the trail with tropical and food-related plants inside the well developed greenhouse, nice layout along path outside, pond-side and cool local artifacts in the evolving display. Nice butterfly pavilion and friendly special needs docents really shows the compassion of the folks running this must see attraction.

My Experience was not perfect. It may not be the best place for a concert, if you are not looking for perfection in any sense. There is a nice walk and you can look at stuff at the Gardens........But a place to put on a concert it is ok....there was barely room for the 100 people. The sun was in... More
