Am amazed that this site has gotten such little play on TripAdvisor. . . . . The highlight here is an absolutely beautiful medieval cave church, which you can access via the monastery. I'm not an especially spiritual person, but, standing in the middle of this small church, surrounded by 600-year-old frescoes, it's hard not to feel a wave of emotion. Highly recommend.
To get there, park in the Hotel Biser (next door to the monastery - note that bathroom access to tourists appears to be limited at the monastery, so would go in Biser as needed). When you arrive at the monastery, ask for a Mr. Nachey (spelling?), an older gentleman with a mustache and white hair. He appears to the caretaker. You pay him 2 Euros/person, and he'll take you to the cave church as well as a couple of more modern religious sites on the monastery. (His English is limited, but we had no difficulty communicating with him.)
The monastery is right on the water, and you are welcome to spend time relaxing and taking in the view. . . . Suggest visiting en route to the more popular cave church nearby in Radozda - recommend that one, too.

The place it's called Kalishta. It is a Monastery from the 14th century devoted to the Holy Mother. The walls are filled with pregnant women, children getting baptized, and women in labor. It is believed that couples who can't have children, have them after visiting the Monastery. The locals can spend the whole day giving you information for the countless blessed couples.
On the outside of the Monastery there is a hotel with the most beautiful view of the Ohrid Lake. The beach is amazing and filled with shadows from the tall trees.
All in all, amazing place to spend the day.

Place appeared on Trip Advisor with no pictures but a few reviews. It’s 10 minutes south of Struga. Worth it. I’ll be back during a Summer.

One of the best places to visit next to the water. The monastery is located near the water and is providing a calm feeling to everyone that decides to visit. Breathtaking.
