Serenity Soak under the Stars
Feb. 2021
Beautiful location to relax...soak in serenity, hot springs and stars. The rooms are tastefully decorated and comfortable. The breakfast and dinner is a delicious treat.
Give yourself a mountain retreat to rejuvenate! We highly recommend. The staff was very helpful and respectful during Covid.

What no shower
May 2019 • Couples
Great idea, poorly monitored, when we were there we both noticed how few showered before getting in. The front attendant suggested everyone shower as they don’t use any chemicals in the pools??? My wife and I discussed after leaving we both noticed that most do not shower. Brings me back to NO CHEMICALS ! The pools need chemicals trust me.

Stopped on a whim during an RV trip and I'm so glad I did.

The view is amazing.

Breakfast and dinner are included.

Most of all the water is absolutely amazing.

Very Joyous and relaxing
Nov. 2018 • Friends
The atmosphere is very spiritual. It’s located in south Colorado in the middle of a plain with a spectacular view of the San Juan mountains. An added bonus would be that it is near The Great Sand Dunes National Park.

The spa is very warm with a great view of the stars at night. You can see forever. There are three pools that range in temp from 98 to 108 degrees. Robes and towels are provided.

We arrived late afternoon and were prepared for the fact that food is not available. We had a picnic salad and everything we needed for the overnight stay. The nearest restaurant is about 30 mins. away. On weekends they have a pizza delivery at the spa.

You have a choice of what you would like to stay in. There are teepees, yurts and and a motel with rooms. There is a stone labyrinth on the premises. Most rooms are pet friendly and your pet should stay on a leash.

The hotel/spa staff is super helpful and congenial. Th e price is right. Check it out.

Great staff and experience!
Aug. 2018 • Couples
This was my second time at Joyful Journey, last time was in the winter. It was a bit busy, but not overwhelming. The pools are clean and well maintained. The surroundings are beautiful and truly peaceful.

Staff is warm and welcoming and the rooms are great. If you stay at the hotel you get robes and free access to the pool. Breakfast is complimentary and pretty good!

Will be back!

Beautiful Property and Fantastic Staff

My wife and I are so excited to have found this special place. It's a great visit for the day, but clearly an overnight stay is the best way to take in the magic of this place. We always leave refreshed and happy!

Chill...
Apr. 2018 • Family
Hot hot was excellent but stayed mostly in the medium hot since we had a youngster with us. ‘Twas clean and friendly folks running the place. Stayed in the 4 person yurt and really liked it. The breakfast the next morning was delicious: quiche and salad with organic coffee!

Got a massage too. Tad really tuned into what I needed through trusting his intuition. My body responded really well to his work. There were also things he told me to do that make good sense and I’ll follow up by researching them.

I will go back again if I can. Just a real treat. I’d give 10 stars if I could because it was a healing experience all around.

Not good
Apr. 2017 • Couples
We have been going to Joyful Journey for several years, but with the new management, we have seen a decline in the family friendly with their marijuana hut and going to clothing optional, its not for us

Sleep in a Yurt!
Sep. 2017 • Solo
I stayed here while visiting Great Sand Dunes National Park. I opted to stay in a yurt with my 2 dogs for 2 nights. What a fun experience! My yurt was very comfortable, well lit and had a space heater for warmth. (You do need to walk outside of the yurt and down to a communal bathroom, but that was no problem for me!) I thought the hot springs experience was very nice with the 3 separate pools depending on temperature. FYI....There is a continental breakfast in the mornings but no other dining facilities here. They do have a communal kitchen with a microwave and you can buy frozen foods in the lobby.
