One of My Favorite Museums

Great selection for a small museum, with plenty of hands on stuff for kids inside if the dig outside is closed for winter or weather, and the tour is actually worth your time.

I went last week with my 4 year old son to a birthday party there, and it is amazing! They have the first ever baby stegosaurus foot print and so many more unique fossils. There is even a room where you can help them clean out new fossils.

While driving the scenic byways and stopping in the town of Morrison I decided to follow the signs to the local history Museum. I did not know what to expect! Sharon was my tour guide and she was a delight. It was great to learn about the Jurassic history of the region. I learned so much. As someone who has... More

I had seen this museum a few times and was driving past with nothing to do so I stop in. Very cool place and very informative about the area and what they have found. You can touch almost all the fossils and there are even some reptiles you can pet! Tour guide was very informative.

This was recommended by the man at the front desk when we checked into our hotel. This Museum is small but HUGE in history and information. We were given a guided tour and learned so much. This Museum has some one of a kind finds.Great for families but I'd recommend children old enough to understand what's being said.

This museum wasn't originally on our list to visit, but I'm sure glad that we made the stop. The paleontologist who gave the tour was awesome with our kids and clearly loved the museum. The kids loved being able to touch several of the "fossils" (actually recreations). My son got to work on a rock containing an actual dinosaur bone.... More

My 7-year-old son is OBSESSED with dinosaurs. He has said that he wants to be a paleontoligist since he learned the word at age 3. This museum was AWESOME. It is small, but they have plenty of REAL fossils that the kids can touch. The tour, which was given by a paleontoligist, was great. She was extremely knowledgable and wonderful... More

Had no idea this little museum was there. So we saw it and decided to stop by. Only two floors, but if you want, they'll have a Guided tour for you. we opted just to wander the two floors (In a little house) to see the fossils and read the history of the fossils there in Morrison. Very interesting actually.... More

I have lived in the area for 9 years and had no idea this museum existed. I thought it would be a good compliment to the visit my grandson and I had to Dinosaur Ridge, but I had no idea what awaited us. We took the tour of this museum that encourages touching (two fingers only please). What a treat... More
