St. Elmo is located up a maintained dirt road. There is not much to do, but the view is great. When the snow has melted from the town, the chipmunks come out and you can feed them by hand. They are so comfortable around people...More

We took a ride up the mountain after horseback riding at Mt Princeton Stables to see historic St. Elmo. It takes a while to get up there, unpaved road waaay uphill. There was snow on the ground and bright sunshine when we got there. It...More

This is a nice day trip from Colorado Springs, I’m sure there is plenty to do in the summer months but it was beautiful in the winter!

A beautiful drive into the National Forrest and great buildings with character. We were there before the tourist season so the store and Guest house were stilled closed.

We checked this ghost town out one evening on our spring break vacation. It was pretty far out but neat to see the old buildings. We were the only people there so it truly felt like a ghost town. Not a must see but check...More

My kids loved feeding the chipmunks! This is a great historic spot but quite out of the way. The drive to St. Elmo is gorgeous alongside a river and a further drive than you would expect. No cell service on the drive. Make a trip...More

St Elmo is a historic mining and supply town that is now a ghost town with nothing much to enjoy except the history.
