The town should be open to walk around, but there really isn't much to see :( nearly every building is private property or private residence, so windows are either completely boarded up or blinds and curtains block view. It's fun to feed the chipmunks and check out the antiques, and it probably won't be as busy in November as it was for us when we went. Overall, just more disappointing, as I expected a ghost town with tours and access like it was 20 years ago. Beautiful drive there though! Be safe, we saw a mountain lion at night cross the dirt road on the way in!
