It's always a good day for a soak in the clear warm waters of the Ouray Hot Springs Pool! The hot springs of Ouray have been enjoyed since at least the 14th century when native Ute Indians used the naturally hot clear water for healing. Settlers came to the area in the late 1800's in search of gold and precious minerals, and many found comfort in the natural hot springs. The current swimming pool was constructed in the 1920's and has been a favorite destination ever since. Seven different springs supply the pool with water. At the source some of this water is 150 degrees! The pool consists of several sections maintained at different temperatures for different tastes. The hot section is approximately 104 degrees, and a soaking section, perfect for families and prolonged soaking, is typically 95 degrees, or so. The lap lanes and deep section are usually about 80 degrees in the summer and fall, and cooler than that in the winter months when there is snow on the ground. The Ouray Hot Springs Swimming Pool is an outdoor pool open all year. Many people enjoy the pool the most in the winter, after a day spent ice climbing, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, skating on the local ice rink (skates are available to rent at the Hot Springs Pool), or simply as a place to relax and enjoy the splendid scenery of the San Juan Mountains.

It's a must even if passing through. For us, this is a great reason to stop on outlet way to Telluride Film Festival. Bonus, the pools were closed early this year for a huge renovation. If by chance you go and it begins to rain or lightning you'll receive a rain check. Showers & dressing rooms. Definitely for all ages.... More

Visited here in October 2016 and it's the same as I remember it when me and my family were here in the late 60s. Hot Springs can't be beat for relaxing after driving most of the day. It's still a hit with all ages.

I was a little leery of this place given that it looks more like a municipal pool than a hot spring but it turned out to be a great place to come. The water on the day we went was 73, 93, and 108 depending on the pool you were in and it was so refreshing to go between the... More

The Hot Springs Pool is a must if you're going to Ouray! Four different pools offer different temperatures. You can bask in the pools, look at the mountains and enjoy water that is sulpher-smell free.

Went to the Hot Springs after spending a morning on a jeep tour. Fantastic setting and lovely to relax in the pools and enjoy the views. It was exhilarating going between the different temperatures. The changing facilities and showers were clean and functional. Mostly older couples and some quiet families. We were visiting in September. Would probably be a different... More

The Ouray Hot Springs are well worth your time! Different pool for all members of the family, so little ones will love it as well! Very relaxing in the evenings...just what we needed after a fun filled day, to help us sleep wonderfully!

Very reasonably priced! The pools were in great shape.... VERY CLEAN! I don't think I saw one bug in the pool, well, maybe one.... we floated around the really hot pool and the mid-warm pool for about 90 minutes... staff was very nice. Can't wait to go back and enjoy the next time we're in town.

We visit the hot springs every time we come to Ouray. We went Jeeping all day and needed a relaxing place. We ended up staying until they closed for the night. Really hot pool is great but I can't stay in it for too long. We love to feed the big fish. I see they are closing for renovations, but... More

No sulfur smells, and tons to do for kids and swimmers of all ages and abilities...waterslides, aqua-course, swimming lanes, kiddies pools, three levels of heat, NO SMELL OF SULFUR, and two big playground structures outside of the pool area. Kept us warm and happy when it got really wet and cold in mid-August due to some surprise rain storms. Very... More
