We stumbled upon this museum completely accidentally. WOW! The stories that go with the history of alchemy from an alchemist were humorous, frightening and compelling. Curt's immense knowledge started a fascination in a subject that I didn't know I had an interest in. Curt's rare and captivating collection was beautifully displayed in antique cabinets from closed pharmacies in Colorado. I... More

Mind-blowing and a must see. The owner is very knowledgeable and encourages all opinions. Call the owner to set up a tour. Tours are at 10 am and 1pm, and it costs $10 per person.

Our visit was by appointment only and was attended by the owner-guide with the most interesting stories and artifacts to share. This was truly an event well worth the time and fee. The "museum" is centered on medical history and unusual facts.

We decided to visit this museum because of the positive reviews on TripAdvisor and now we are also giving this place a positive review. Curtis, the owner was delightful and entertaining. Our family had a personal tour that lasted 2 hours. Curtis weaves a story of 4000 years of pharmacy history. He has interesting artifacts and beautiful historical cabinetry from... More

One of the highlights of a 3+ weeks in Colorado chasing fall color is the town of Ouray. The Ouray Alchemist to say the least is one of the top must do things in town We went there last year and again this year. The collection of antiques, all from Colorado is amazing. But the talk that Curt gives on... More

I have always been fascinated by alchemy and pharmacy. This was the perfect little history lesson on that, and the items you get to look at are so interesting. I read the reviews before attending, and they said that time flew by. I didn't really believe them, but they were right. The tour and history lesson took about an hour... More
