OK, so I was born on a farm, love animals and love to be outdoors and hike. However, like most of us, I have never experienced Alpacas. First of all, Mike, our host and his family and great people. They have these animals and their fiber to offer an exceptional product. We made an appointment to "trek" with an Alpaca.... More

This is just a fun place to go - for adults and for children. We got to meet the alpaca and learn about the history of alpaca ranching in Colorado. We saw some very newborn cria (baby alpaca) and the moms and dads. We learned that the lighter colored alpaca made it easier to dye their wool (obvious, I guess,... More

It takes a bit a time and navigation to get to them. But it is way worth it. We showed up a few minutes before they actually open. The owner was kind enough to start our tour. He spoke to us about the different types of alpacas. He even let us pet one of them. Then he showed us the... More

This is my new favorite place to visit! Visit with the alpacas (caution, they're really shy) and learn all about how yarn goes from animal to skein. Amazing! You won't regret taking the short jaunt off the wine byway in Palisade

We saw this on your web site. Called "Mike" the owner to get more information. Sounded like fun to us, we enjoy different experiences. We made a date with him to visit, off of his regular visitor day schedule - which we really appreciated. He was very informative, explaining so much about the alpaca's, why and how he got involved.... More

We called in and were the only visitors at the time. Mike and his mother were so friendly and gave us so much information and time. We found out things about the production process in a really interesting way. Mike has the personality, sense of humour and technical knowledge to make this a really great visit. The babies were a... We got a tour of their wool processing facility. Got to feed the alpacas. There were two babies: a 3 day old and a 6 day old. Amazing how much they do at that young an age. Owners very friendly and talked with us for a long time. they have a great operation and a good life. It's a little... More

We came to Suncrest Orchard, and it was our best experience in Palisade. The owner was super friendly and showed us around his Alpaca wool factory at no cost, and we purchased some amazing Alpaca wool products like socks and scarfs. We will definitely be back!

This was a great little find for our eight year old. It was super informative and super cool to get to lead the Alpacas around the orchard. The owner was very informative and we actually learned a lot about how they make the yarn from these animals. All that for $10 bucks a person! What a deal.
