Amazing castle. It takes you back true time. Beautiful detour when you are going to Bratislava. Only 45 minutes away from the city! We had to take the slovakian tour because there was no other guide available, but we got an translation on paper and the guide was so kind to translate everything we asked in english for us!!

Redstone Castle in central Colorado is probably one of the least known homes of the 1890's to 1910 industrial giants including such figures as Rockefeller, Carnegie, JP Morgan and others. Coal industrialist, John Osgood, showers the visitor by displaying just what unlimited wealth could buy in a home in the Victorian age. More of a Manor than a castle, the home... More

Was raining but most of the tour was inside. Most rooms still have original furnishings and decor with historical news clippings reflecting the castle's history and colorful past. Rain stopped in time to tour the grounds. Tickets should be purchased in advance in the town of Redstone. Access road tricky to find and very narrow.

Step back in time to the era when silver, gold and coal broadly entrepreneurs to the Colorado wilderness. Amazing redstone building with a fascinating history. On the National Historic Registry, the gilded ceilings and Tiffany globe lamps are unlike anything seen in the Wild West. Our docent was excellent. House is on the market again so come soon and enjoy... More

There are so many original furnishings which makes this place a gem, including the wall paper! Sue, our guide, was incredibly knowledgeable, this is her calling! The setting is beautiful. The place is for sale, so sooner the visit the better I would think.

Been wanting to g here for years and now I can cross it off my Bucket List, lots of history here and the guide is very informative. Well worth the cost and the drive to get there.

We took a 1:30 tour of the Redstone Castle in July 2015. The tour lasted about 90 minutes and I was spellbound the entire time. I had no idea of the history behind the castle or the part the original owner played in the building of the railroads during the Gilded Age. The castle itself is in need of some... More
