Great views on this short hike!

This is a great hike! Short, but a must. The 360 degree views from the top of the lookout are amazing! It is a popular hike and can be busy at peak times.

I absolutely loved the journey to the top of the lookout tower. The hike wasn't strenuous (at least from the point of several college students) and offered a breathtaking view once the summit was reached.

This is a great hike! so many places to stop and take photos. When you get to the top, don't be afraid to climb those final stairs, it's worth it!!! Hold on to your hat up there, it can get windy. Bring your camera!!

This is a special place. Great and easy hike to the top of Devil's Head and then on to the lookout tower which is only occasionally manned. Historically, if it was and you made it to the top, you received a card making you a member of the Order of Squirrel.

Came out here with my boyfriend early October 2015. I had vastly underestimated the difficulty I would have with the altitude and this became an all day event. The views and Aspen foliage were absolutely spectacular and Ranger Bill Ellis is such a sweet man. We did get lost attempting to leave the national forest - pay attention to signs... More

Awesome hike to the fire tower! An easy hike with a clear trail and well kept steps. The elevation was gradual and not too strenuous. The views at the fire tower are amazing. The steps to the fire tower are safe and sturdy. The foliage is incredible and shows the aftermath of the July 2015 tornado. A great hike for... More

Wonderful vistas; an easy hike with numerous steps to scale to the lookout. Take the family. Like similar areas, terrible washroom facilities, but you are out in the middle of nowhere.

Had a great time on a day with 80% chance of rain, hit the trail hard, but noticed only 5 cars there, did not get there until 12pm, but all were on the way down. Got up in the heat of the day, but enjoyed the breeze at the top, what a view!!! Spent 1 hour on the tower with... More

We drove up to go to to Devil's Head, as we started up the trail we saw signs to say it was closed but no explanation. It is not until you get right to a locked gate near the top that there is a sign saying the top area is closed because of the danger of falling trees due to... More

I'm a city gal. So when my boyfriend suggested a hike up Devil's Head, I was naturally intimidated. I'm in fairly good shape for a middle aged woman so I say "what the heck". It was wonderful. We stopped from time to time but eventually made it all the way to the top! The views are breath taking. The trail... More
