Well worth the trip down. The scenery was spectacular with lots of overlooks and rest areas. Use low gear and not the brakes when descending. I recommend the drive.

Not much to say other than this is a good summer road for a road trip. Dont bother with an rv or winter.

Driving this road reveals one stunning view after another. Also one potentially deadly drop off after another. So stop at the pull offs to enjoy the views. And be patient. This route is about the scenery, not speed.

The road from Ouray to Silverton, the Million Dollar Highway is not for the timid of faint of heart, but oh so worth it if steep drop offs won't bother you. Million dollar views around every turn.

How tall at the tunnels? I know someone who has a truck with a slide-in camper, and he would love to be able to drive this terrific highway.

There were large 5th wheel campers and full size semi trucks, so I doubt a slide in camper would have any problems.
