There was about 1 foot of snow on the ground so it made for awesome views of the valley below. It was cold, but the wind was not blowing too much, so it was tolerable. Out Husky/Shepard mix dog loved the cold and snow, she was eating and flipping the snow. There is room for young kids to romp in... More

We stopped at Molas Pass while driving the Million Dollar Highway scenic byway (US550). There is a parking area with short, paved walkways to a viewpoint with educational signage. You are surrounded by towering mountain peaks and can see Molas Lake sparkling in the meadows below. Great photo op! Restrooms are provided. The Colorado Trail passes through the area. Keep... More

We drove up this pass to explore our favorite mountain range, the San Juans! High altitude and scenic mountain views of this young jagged range are awesome. Highly recommended even if you have to take the most dangerous road in Colorado- Red Mountain Pass!

A gorgeous view of the mountains of SW Colorado. Take the time to stop and take it all in. You can see the Weinmunde Wilderness before you with Molas Lake down the way. The bathrooms were not very clean and there was no toilet paper when we stopped, so be forewarned!

Just down from Molas Pass you'll find Molas Lake. The view of the lake and mountains is beautiful! There is a campground, but also a delightful picnic area with tables, restroom, and access to the lake. Walking just a little south of the picnic area, you will find the Colorado Trail where you can hike and enjoy views of the... More

Molas Pass on US Hwy 550 between Silverton and Durango shows off Colorado's mountain splendor. Extensive panoramas of the high mountains are what makes this spot so remarkable. William Henry Holmes, a U.S. Geological and Geographical Survey explorer, wrote in 1876 the following description of this location: "If you should, in your imagination, put together in one small group, perhaps... This is a stop on the way from Durango to Silverton on the Million Dollar Highway. The view is stunning, even on a rainy day when it's 47 degrees. (Yesterday). I wish I'd been able to see this beauty on a sunny day, but it was still a site to behold despite the gross weather! Check it out!

It is a Beautiful drive from Durango to Grand Junction, be aware though that there is some road work going on, so you will have to wait about 20 minutes about an hour outside of Silverton.

This pass and overlook has breathtaking views! You have almost 360 views of surrounding countryside. We stayed her and just looked around for about 30 minutes because I love this arts so much. One of the places that makes southwest Colorado such a tremendous place!
