We aren't big hikers or bikers but we were still able to enjoy the view and had the opportunity to see a lot of animals free in nature. This is a big Forest and roads were surprisingly well-maintained for Winter. Beautiful views

we expected to see lots of people on this beautiful, long hike but we were fortunate to only encounter a few other hikers during our 6 hr hike. the wildflowers were breathtaking, especially since fall colors were already shining brilliant. a great workout while enjoying in nature....highly recommended

We didnt go deep into it. We just stayed at the road. A small storm came in and we left. We were at about 9000 feet. It was very clean and well maintained.

We drove around on the jeep trails and totally enjoyed the scenery. The wildlife was all around and we enjoyed one of the local game wardens telling us where to see more wildlife and a great spot to eat in Walden.

This national forest is not the easiest to access but is really worth it. The views are good and the campgrounds are well maintained.

Try the hike at Pearl Lake. Very easy, even for kids. There are restrooms. Also, Clarke has a all inclusive store that is fun to check out. Drive to Clarke is along the river and quite pretty.

What a beautiful area. The whole drive here was beautiful and the hike at Mad Creek is very enjoyable. Nice trail and pretty views with the sound of the creek the whole way and occasional peeks of it. Worth while.

We hiked rabbit ears pass to the peak, elevation 10,550. It was a great hike located just past Dumont lake. We had our kids ranging from 8 to 22yrs and they all enjoyed it. We went in early August and the wild flowers were beautiful! You can also take off-road vehicles on this trail.
