Can't imagine how the waterfall come from..upper site is a farm while just below it, the water come out. Local resident are nice. Cold weather. Feel like you are in New Zealand. Please avoid to go there on peak season.

No words could describe this wonderful waterfall. Didn't manage to walk all the way down but still able to capture this wonderful waterfall from the entrance. View was nice and the only thing was the local vendors bugging you for photos.

It takes approximately an hour drive by private car from Berastagi and 45 minutes walk to the bottom of waterfall. The view is amazing but you need to bring the raincoat or extra T-shirt once you decide to get down to the waterfall.

It's ok. About a 2 kilometer walk down to the base. Easy trail to walk on. You can see some decent rainbows caused by the water vapor if you get there at the right time.

After spending one day and exploring Samosir Island, we went to one of the tallest waterfall in Indonesia - Sipiso-piso Waterfall ( "Like a Knife") in Berastagi. Impressed by its beautiful scenery and fascinating.

It is located at the Northern end of Lake Toba. The highest waterfall in Indonesia. I can not see any water catchment on top but the water just hurl down 120 metres from a hole into the northern end of Lake Toba. Very impressive!

Our driver stopped at the waterfall on the way to Samosir island. It was an easy way down to the waterfall but the way back up was pretty hard, depends on your condition. But it is worth the exercise.

Sipisopiso falls is deemed to be the highest falls of the island but sadly it looked more like water gushing out a pipe line. We couldn't appreciate the view as it was raining as well as cold. It's ok to just watch pictures of this...More

Hi William, You'd better take the trip from Medan - Sipiso Piso Waterfall (day trip) - Lake Toba - Medan. You could spend the night around Lake Toba for 1 night, enjoying the cool weather there. Have fun... More
