I rolled into town August 2017, not meaning to stay, and bought property here. The arrangement also has a bird (canary) in a cage.

Centrally located on a well done plaza on Main Street with very well done historical plaques explaining impact of coal on economy of Trinidad area and the role of canaries in the safety of miners. Small parking lot immediately behind statue.

I love labor history. This museum is so awesome because it honors mining workers, tells the people's history like Howard Zinn would through it's exhibits. The memorial canary statue is creative and directly relevant to the history and present day industry work. Friendly and knowledgable...More
