This place was so clean and was stocked with anything you would need. We have been to several VRBO's and have never seen one so completely stocked with anything you might forget. The only thing that was a little disappointing was the fact that there...More

If you catch a clear day the views are incredible. Bathroom facilities are handy. Alot of parking but it can be very busy.

This road over the pass is a feat of engineering (like many roads in Colorado)! We had lunch in Twin Lakes, fished there and then drove up to the pass for some epic views. The leaves were just starting to turn color on September 2nd,...More

The scenery is breathtaking. Lots of steep hairpin turns. Some narrow spots. Not a good road if you are in a rush. It needs to be taken slowly to be enjoyed. Safe but not suited for timid drivers.

Always fun travelling over Independence Pass. This time we were treated to cold winds and torrential rain as we posed for our photo at the top at 44 degrees!!

We took the pass on our way home from Twin Lakes. The pass had some steep points but nothing like the road going up and over Rocky Mountain National Park. The drive was beautiful.

Coming down from the continual divide the pass is very narrow and somewhat scary. That being said the view is stunning.

I would say give yourself about 1.5 - 2 hours between twin lakes and aspen proper.
