Worth a quick trip

It's free, but donations are accepted. Small museum with lots of historical information. Very quaint and worth a look. Good gift shop.

Our daughter absolutely loved this. She enjoyed the exhibits and historical learning aspects. Of course reading about the Olympics and seeing the old pictures was neat for her. Gift shop lured her too.

So refreshing to find a museum free, and very interesting. Located by the Vail transportation centre. Spent a good 45 minutes looking at the first ever ski's and snow boards. Wow do I respect though peeps that wore those boots and ski's.

We mostly visited to see the exhibit about the 10th Mountain Division, which was interesting. There is information about the history of skiing and activities in Colorado too. The suggested donation is only $3 so it is an interesting diversion. There are brown signs directing you off of I-70 and on to the south frontage road east of exit 176,... More

Well displayed with so much great history. The best part it's free. Read about the legends, see the equipment and take your time. Located right near the parking garage there in the center.

This small museum is filled to the brim with various bits of memorabilia from the world of skiing and the early days of the 10th Mountain Division training nearby. It includes the history of skis, snowboards, ski clothing, lift technology, etc. as well as info on many famous US ski racers. Many awards, championship trophys, and Olympic medals are on... More
