The state park is nice! We tend to like camping in more secluded areas, but we were vacationing with friends. The area we stayed in was really nice, clean & quiet. The lake was busy, but not super packed. Bathrooms were clean. We traveled to Zapata Falls & Cuchara one day. Beautiful area.

Just outside Walsenburg, you have your choice of two lakes, lots of fishing and even golf. Great hiking and golf at a ridiculously low price. Always something new as 87% of the area residents use the park each year.

Nice lake, swimming available, large secluded sites that accommodated 50 or so. Fire pit, bathroom facilities were very clean and easily available and accessible.

We love Lathrop State Park. We stay here at least once a year for hiking, fishing and siteseeing. The campsites are spacious. There is also lots of space between campsites so you don't feel crowded in. In fact, some sites are very private because of pinon and juniper trees. They have a little museum in the visitor center. They sell... More

This state park was an easy 7 miles from I-25. All pullthru sites with plenty of space between them. Cement pads, gravel picnic area & Pinõn loop has 20, 30, 50 amps. Water was available throughout the park, but would advise having a full tank when entering. Dump was available as well. $24.00 /night and the double mountain in the... More

We went for a day trip and the scenery was beautiful. We stopped by the swim area, which was fairly small but the beach was clean and the water was nice. We plan to go camping there soon, so we toured the campgrounds which had lots of pinon pines and it was clean. The outhouses were really clean and didn't... More

Great park with some really good fishing spots, can be a bit cramped without flotation or waders to get out of the brush. Fishing was slow while we were there, probably due to temperature highs and lows the week before our visit. Several hits of spinners. Visited some family in the camp grounds, a bit cramped for my taste. Felt... More

We stayed only one night while traveling through to Durango. It is a lovely park. All sites are pull through. Our was not level as were most. I guess that's what happens when you are in the mountains! Regardless, all sites are paved. Beautiful views from every angle. Went to golf course restaurant for dinner to find the restaurant closed... More

They have two campgrounds, non-electric and electric. We take our pop up camper here at least once per year if not more. The non electric sites are nice, but the bathrooms are not as nice as the electric sites. If you don't mind paying a little extra, you should get an electric site. The landscape at the campgrounds is desert... More

Can find fishing spots without areas being too crowded. Beautiful views. Stinks that boats don't stay on their side of the lake, they kept scaring away the fish. Found a picnic table with shade, no problem.
