We took the Ski train up to Winter Park to ski for the day. We took our little granddaughters who had an absolute blast! The train is wonderful. The scenery is amazing. It's the easiest way to go! We would recommend it for everyone. Very very enjoyable!

This is an interesting historic site, and its fun to see the train pop out if you are there at the right time. You can look it up online and read about how it got here. It truly was an engineering marvel for its time. If you are able, take the train up from Denver. Its goes through some gorgeous... More

If you are out and about in Winter Park check out the Moffat Tunnel, we came upon it my accident while looking for somewhere to go, it was nice to see, we walked around for awhile and there were even some trains on the tracks when we got there. So it is a must see if you are visiting.

The Moffat Tunnel has a great story and is interesting to go up to the entrance and see. You can walk right up to it from The Village at Winter Park.

Wonderful ride up from Denver. The "hosts", conductors, everyone were incredibly . The moffet tunnel is the end of the line, and Ta da there you are in the middle of everything, snow, skiers, shops and restaurants.

Over the years, I have stopped here several times. This year, I actually knew there was a train coming. I had a very hard time accessing the west portal, not even sure if I was supposed to be where I was to photograph a train. I know I wasn't on railroad property, but wasn't sure if it was public property... More

I have been coming to this train site since the 1960's. It is so utterly AMAZING to hear the heavy rubber curtains drop and the fans start up in the under mountain tunnel. By doing this, the tunnel is closed off and the fans in the tunnel can push fresh air in front of the train and get rid of... More

Winter Park/ Mary Jane ski areas are the only ski areas in North America serviced by train. This is the way to "see" the Moffat tunnel. Amtrak also goes through the tunnel from Denver or Fraser.

West Portal is a great history story but realistically, not much to see. On the other hand if you take the train you will be treated to incredible views and of course the ski resort is right there at West Portal. Good history and I understand the passenger service is expected this coming ski season which should be welcomed by... More

What a great way to see history and a 360 view of the mountain range. This was my 1st Colorado hike in the Mountains. Being from Indiana, I didn't think the hike was too bad. This was my ultimate favorite trailhead.
