Such a great place to visit! We love going to the Farmer's Market every Sunday! The gift shop has some great stuff. The house itself is great to tour, so much history! They are expanding and will be a venu for events and will have a classroom! We love hiking on the trails around there, and the haunted corn maze... More

Market open at 11 but get there earlier to avoid the lines and get the best produce. The parking lot fills up quickly and often you end up on the street. Everything here from produce, cheese, meat, bread, crafts, flowers, beer, food trucks...and every week there is a different theme. My suggestion would be to buy some local cheese and... More

My family and I made a Nathan Hale centric trip to CT, visiting his house and then the school he taught at in New London. The house tour was the highlight. The guides here are professionals and have a lot of information to offer- I felt like I had a personal understanding of the lives of the people who lived... More

Went to the summer market - it was a fun filled morning with lovely food and Scottish music. We made it to the market early and were able to park in the field close to the market. Whole foods were giving out free groceries bags for our purchases. We walked around the whole market and Nathan Hale's Homestead. We got... More

The Nathan Hale Homestead property is beautiful and historical. We go here often during the Spring thru Fall to attend the market. Our last visit was this past Sunday for Blues and Brews. Lots of BBQ and plenty of fresh farm products. The Sunday before last was Italian focused. There was a young man entertaining all with a fabulous voice!... More

Huge farmers market - surprising - enough parking spaces in the field and up the road. Even a few off road spaces, tons of vendors for the farmers market, pottery, jewelry, all kinds of fresh produce and baked goods. Nice museum store and tour, a couple barns to go in, trails to walk.

I took my son (who is a budding historian) to a purported Nathan Hale birthday celebration at the homestead, which was promoted as having activities for kids. We drove an hour to get there, only to be 'greeted' by a fairly sullen woman at the door, dressed in colonial garb. I let her know we were there for the birthday... More

We strolled around the farm which was closed, but the trails that surround the area were fantastic. We hiked for over five hours covering all the trails. Fantastic experience. I will be back in warmer weather.

If you're lucky enough to hit this spot on a weekend during the season, you may be in for a very large Farmer's Market. Revolutionary War reenactments are also done on the land, and parades of colors for veterans that have served can occasionally go on here. On any other day you can receive a wonderful tour of the house... More
