On a very cold day, it was a short walk across the road to first have a view of the falls. It took about three minutes to walk down to the stream level to get some nice photos. My wife and I were back in the car in less than 10 minutes.

Guys. The waterfall is beautifully picturesque. But there is more to the park than just the waterfall. There are several lovely trails to hike about on, and some great spots to just settle down and contemplate, enjoying the quiet serenity of the woods and the water. I've been both in the fall and in the winter. The fall is, of... More

You can park and walk just a few steps to enjoy the falls or you can take a variety of different hikes through the scenic park

This is a terrific park for a variety of reasons and good for all ages. The park itself is about 1,000 acres and includes waterfalls. People visit the park for many reasons including hiking, fishing, camping, bicycling, and picnicking. The park is suitable for all adults, children, and is pet friendly. (Many people come with their dogs so you may... More

The sun was out and snow melting... great rush of the waterfalls.. but be prepared with hiking boots and much reccommended hiking sticks. We went to the top of the yellow trail to the Vista trail. Expect the unexpected, lots of uphill and downhill, not for those scared of vertigos, and the need to step of rocks, tree roots, and crossing rivers,streams.... More

We went on New Years Day and there were a lot of people there with their kids and dogs. I do have to say two things: 1) some of the trails were well marked while others were not; and 2) please keep your dog within reach or leashed when within other dogs as a courtesy to other dogs (some aren't... We noticed the sign for Devil's Hopyard on the way from Gilette Castle to Groton, so we decide to go there. Nice scenic drive to get to the park, and while Chapman Falls were somewhat small, I guess due to lack of rain, it was still a nice stop.

The falls themselves are beautiful. I wouldn't plan my whole day around the short hike but maybe if you are in the area, you should check it out. The best parts are all at the beginning and visible from the road. Parking is adequate.
