What a beautiful day for a short trolley ride. I enjoy trains and trolley rides and learning their histories. The museum building itself is not large but a lot of information and displays are packed into the small space. There are a few interactive displays that can be played with as well as plenty of historic articles and paperwork on... More

Definitely make time to visit here. There's a small museum and a trolley every 20 minutes, and the trolleys are the originals from the 19th and early 20 centuries. You can also see a subway car that was under the World Trade Center and was discovered after September 11. They have haunted trolley trains and pumpkin patches for Halloween.

We stumbled on this gem. We were too late for a regular trip on the trolley but the staff were great. They had to take the trolleys back to the barn for the night so we rode there and had a short walk back to the museum building. t was worth it. They have a NJ-Path car that was under... More

Stopped off here on a trip up I-95. They've done a magnificent job restoring a collection of trolleys from across the United States. Our two young children lived the trolley ride through the county and the interactive museum. Highly recommend!

We visited the museum at the behest of my 4 year old, who is obsessed with all things automotive and had a really enjoyable day. The site effectively comprises 3 sections: a small museum by the parking lot, the trolley ride and the yard containing the other trolleys they have restored. The museum is very small but worth a short... More

This hidden gem offers the following: 1) One of the tiniest museums you'll ever see, with some very interesting hands on displays and a few fun historic videos and animations of a time past that, in wishful thinking, should be a time present for those who love public transport. 2) A really fun trolley ride in a historic district that... My husband and I finally got to the Trolley Museum in East Haven last week. The main building has an interesting display showing the history of trollies and that part is free. We also rode the trolley which is fun, albeit a short journey through the salt marshes of Branford and back. The stop at the barns where they house... More

This little museum, in an out of the way location in East Haven is full of delightful surprises. While the Museum is small it has some really interesting films about various aspects of trolley history, and best of all, the modest admission includes a ride on a lovingly restored trolley along a route that included a small farm with geeses... This is a great museum covering the history of trolley's as well as exhibits and dozens of old trolleys from all over the U.S. You can take several rides in different well restored trolley's on 2 miles of track through their property. Loads of fun and informational to a time gone by. Reasonably priced and figure on 2 hours.
