My wife and I made a quick stop at Rocky Neck to see what it looked like. I was somewhat disappointed in it's location by the train tracks. It felt very cramped.

This place is perfect for just a day on the beach to get some sun. It's not quiet. Can be crowded at times. Is you are local and does not want to drive far to go to a bigger beach, this is perfect! There's a little food store that serves take out and some little ice cream stand. I recommended... More

Rocky Neck is a small CT state park not far Off I-95. Rocky Neck reminds me of how things were many years ago along the CT shore when I grew up. There is a building made of field stone right by the railroad tracks that run to Providence and New York City. The beach is not expansive nor are the... More

It is difficult to get to a beach in CT even though we are blessed with lovely beaches. BUT-the almighty dollar has prohibited most of the public from enjoying any beaches-much better a few rich people hog the beauty!! But here is a pristine white sugar sand beach which happens to be fairly close to us so I think we... More

We came here for a day from Kent. Brought a picnic and sat on gym mats on the white sand. Beach was quite empty(perfect) calm sea, light breeze and very relaxing. The train flew by once or twice but it doesn't bother anyone, unless you're someone looking to complain. The only downside was the portable toilets....they were bad!!!!! Apart from... More

Pros: Camp sites were nice, large amount of space and you were not on top of other campers. Different types of campsites - ones with lots of trees to being in a field. Close walk to the beach. Also had a hiking trail that was easy and had some nice viewing of coastal birds and wildflowers. Watch out for poison... More

Lovely for children. Gentle waves. Too crowded in later afternoon. Beautiful beach. There's a loud train that passes a couple of times per hour.

Like I said, best beach in CT. Clear water and white sand(where am I???) The waves are not big and the atmosphere is calm. The tide is often low, so you can walk out pretty far without even being knee deep. There's a pavilion at one end that's nice for parties and such. I personally like the other end as... More

Beautiful beach! One of the best in CT. They also have a nice camping area a little ways from the beach. The pavilion is nice too especially for parties just be sure to book ahead!

The beach with a beautiful boardwalk, sand like sugar and well groomed was worth the trip. The water was clear and sandy below water surface without rocks or shells to step on. Beautiful boardwalk to walk on till you pick a spot to sit. Lifeguards are on duty there. There is a concession stand which has great food. Easy on and... More
