Fairfield Museum is a beautifully designed building with 3 exhibitions galleries, a fantastic library and program hall. I found the exhibits, including the large one on regional history which had some neat native american material, well designed, informative and fun to explore. Well worth a 1-2 hour visit if you'r in the area. Pretty reasonable admission to of $5, free... More

The museum has a really good exhibit of the history of the town of Fairfield. The Native American culture is well documented, as is life during WW II. The museum has several rotating exhibits which may include photography, paintings, sculptures or current events.

In a beautiful location. I saw a photo exhibition and an illustrators exhibition(the guy who did poppers penguins), both in a small room each. The main exhibition was a history of settlers and local native Americans but skimmed over any areas of contention and didn't mention any history probably deemed uncomfortable. Also didn't have a single staff member talk to... More

As a local resident, I visit the Fairfield Museum and History Center several times a year as the exhibits change and there are special events from reenactments to walking tours. It is especially of interest to those having their roots in New England. The town of Fairfield itself is steeped in revolutionary war history.

Very nicely laid out with many interesting things to see in the area of history, art and culture of particular interest of those who know the area. Right in the middle of the historic area with buildings you can tour and other notable sites. Parking is free and easy. Open daily from mid-morning to mid-afternoon. Expect to spend a couple... This is a small museum and will not take long to go round. They did seem rather surprised to have visitors but that may be because they were hosting a conference at the same time. It was interesting and a good way to pass some time if it's raining.

This museum is absolutely tiny, but they've done a great job with the limited floor space and we ended up staying for at least an hour to read, watch and listen to all the info on display. There are some really interesting stories to learn about, including the story of how the museum itself came to be (they call them... More

Since our son, daughter-in-law, and grandson now live in Fairfield, we are trying to learn as much as possible about the area. This fairly new museum, near the center of town, is a great place to start. The main exhibit, Creating Communities, does a great job of using text (maybe a little too much text...), displays of antique items, maps,... More

This was a very friendly, comfortable place for family and friends. I came here with some friends and my nephew. It has a lot to offer and something to do on a nice Saturday. I would recommend!
