The book store is very quaint. We picked up several children’s books for the grandchildren, which they loved. We also browsed the other selections, which are quite diverse. A little something for everyone on your list.

I love to read and I for sure patronize both online and brick-and-mortar chains, but there's nothing quite like a locally owned bookstore. Creaky, a bit dusty, aromatic with that book smell, it is a unique experience. They don't carry everything, but they'll gladly order it for you. But they do seem to have selections that one cannot find elsewhere (or at least can't see when they're elsewhere). Customers can even plop on a high back living room chair and peruse a selection or two. And bring the kids for sure...there's a substantial children's selection at this store. Located right in the heart of Kent village, this is a great experience. Come in....spend some money...because once these places are gone, they're gone.

This is such a quaint and lovely independent bookstore. The employees all post their own reviews for "Top Picks." Besides a wide choice of gift ideas such as candles, journals, and unique cards, there is a great children's section, too. The store carries the latest children's titles and a variety of stuffed animals, games, stickers, and classic toys. An extensive variety cookbooks to choose from will whet your appetite. In addition, there are some art and office supplies for sale, as well!

When I knew we were driving through Kent on our way to Massachusetts, I insisted we stop at House of Books. I found a used book on modern art and a biography I've been looking for by one of my favorite writers. This bookstore is small, but if you love bookstores, you can easily browse for an hour or more here. Definitely one of my "happy places."

Fun browsing books and hearing ideas from the proprietors. Definite plan to return. Good selection for our grandkids too
